Barcelona Restaurant Guide

Here is a summary of my restaurant experiences in Barcelona.

Restaurants with outside terrace / patio:

Santaugustina, Plaça de Sant Agustí Vell, 9, 08003 Barcelona

  • This is a lovely restaurant with a small terrace in the beautimagesiful born area. The terrace is situated in a small square. Unfortunately, you cannot reserve an outside table. But inside it is very cosy as well.
  • They serve excellent tapas in a more modern style. If you like seafood/fish it is definitely worth trying too.
  • Location: 10 / Food: 10 / Price: €€

Platja Ca La Nuri, Pg.Marítim de la Barceloneta (platja del Somorrostro)

  • This is the perfect spot to have lunch or dinner on the beach. You are literally sitting on the beach.
  • Their lunch menu during weekdays is fantastic. For 20 Euro you get an excellent three course menu including a glass of good wine and a bread basket. It is also a great fish restaurant.
  • Location: 10 / Food: 10 / Price: €€

La Balsa, Carrer de la Infanta Isabel, 4, 08022 Barcelona

  • This amazing restaurant is a bit outside the city center. So either you come by taxi or take the train (L7 from Plaza Catalunya to Av. Tibidabo). The restaurant has won an architectural prize in 1979 and its atmosphere is defined by the wooden structure, the open, spacious restaurant and the terrace around the building. When you sit on the terrace you feel like in a green oasis in the middle of the city!
  • The restaurant serves very delicious tapas. The meat dishes are a highlight!
  • Location: 10 / Food: 10 / Price: €€€

Bliss, Plaça de Sant Just, 4B, 08002 Barcelona

  • The terrace of this restaurant is just amazing. You sit in front of a church in a rather quiet square without having the masses of touris1433007651_204786_1433008445_sumario_normalts pass through like in other parts of the old city. So either you come here for a drink or for some traditional tapas!
  • The food is simple but good. Check out their value menus!
  • Location: 10 / Food: 8 / Price: €

Quinze Nits, Plaça Reial, 6, Barcelona

  • This restaurant has a great terrace on the beautiful Plaza Real with its arcades and Spanish architecture. The lanterns in the middle of the square were designed by Gaudí.
  • The highlight is the lunch menu with decent food for little money. It includes 3 courses, a quarter liter of wine and a bread basket.
  • Location: 10 / Food: 8 / Price: €

Perikete, Calle Llauder 6, Barcelona

  • It looks a bit touristy and is also frequented by tourists but the tapas are so good and very reasonably priced. It is in a small side street without traffic between the Born and Barceloneta neighbourhoods close to the old harbour.
  • Seafood/Fish is recommendable. The “Bombas” (local speciality) are a must!
  • Location: 10 / Food: 10 / Price: €€

Restaurants without outside terrace / patio:

Green Bamboo BCN, Carrer de Sant Domènec del Call, 10, 08002 Barcelona

  • The terrace in a small street in the Gótico offers delicious Vietnamese / Asian cuisine. It is a small restaurant so reserve your table before. You can also check out the app “THE FORK” as they offer regularly discounts on their food during less visited times.
  • The food is super delicious.
  • Location: 8 / Food: 10 / Price: € (via the Fork)

Gilda, Calle Ample, 34 Barcelona 08002front-of-restaurant

  • This cozy restaurant is situated in the Gotico area close to the old harbour. We have been coming here for many years as we know the cooks very well.
  • They serve excellent tapas and main dishes – a fusion of Belgian and Spanish cuisine. If you like scallops it is your place. Also the Carne Estofado it is definitely worth trying! Check out the app “THE FORK” as tables can be reserved with a 30%-40% discount at not so popular (Spanish) times.
  • Location: 7 / Food: 10 / Price: € (via the Fork)
